    Superb

The ambience was really relaxing, the pools were wonderful & not too hot. The waterfall in the pool was great for a neck & shoulder massage. The dining areas and food on offer was superb & if you could not get what you wanted at the buffet, they also offered a la carte. Great variety for dinner & breakfast. All staff extremely friendly and willing to assist in any manner required, including the waiters who were always jovial and The views were amazing.

The bed was a bit hard and the room pretty basic but had everything you could need. Our room looked as though the bathroom had recently been updated and if only the bedroom matched it. Maybe a bit dark in the bedroom. Superior room? not quite sure if it met these standards but more than ok for our one night stay. Would like a bigger room if we stayed longer.

    Good

The room was clean and well maintained, unlike the room we got in Feb this year, where the toilet door was broken and bathroom was a bit dirty looking.

I found the staff in the cafeteria not pleasant. When we requested for some things, like tissue, or fork or eggs, they were not pleasant at all. In fact, they gave us a very hostile look. Hope to see this improve during our next trip.

Without a doubt the friendliness of the staff. The gymnasium was fantastic and the pool was also excellent, great for kids. The setting is lovely being surrounded by nature and there is plenty to see particularly for the children.

Nice pool and good to relax for a day at the pool.

Service not good, unfriendly staff, ac always very cold (no regulation), We have asked several times for service but nobody even cares about it. Hotel should be renovated, everything a little bit old. .

Loved it. Probably one of the most decent hotels in Sandakan

    Slightly expensive

    Very good

Pool area is great. Near city and orang-utans etc.

Food is quite boring and expensive

    Fabulous

The hotel is very good value for money & an excellent base for trips to wildlife attractions around Sandakan. The hotel looked after our bags at no cost whilst we went on a 4 day trip. The pool area is nice, as are the cakes in the lounge. The style of the decor in the rooms is somewhat dated, but they are large & clean

    Good

Staff generally quite helpfull, but not enthusiastically so!

Hotel looks run down - definately not like the pictures on internet - but basically comfortable. Poolside area needs revamping as it has potential to be comfortable and inviting. Buffet food was tasty but not kept hot, so was disappointing.

I liked the position close to the Tea House and not too far from town. The hotel is very well maintained. The staff were excellent. It would save a lot of time at breakfast to pre-cook the omelettes and fried eggs and put them in the warmer rather than having to queue up. Everything else on your plate goes cold while you are in the queue! The currency exchange was also a good rate.

    Good

This is the only hotel in town with a pool.

This hotel is not within walking distance to town. Everything is expensive in the hotel, eg a bottle of water cost MYR$1 in shops but cost MYR$6 in the hotel, a normal beer cost $22 at the hotel while you can get

Easy access to Sandakan town would have to be the best feature of the hotel, which seemed to be generally tired, dated and unimpressive.

The hotel would benefit from a general spruce up of all of the facilities. It appeared to be tired and dated in many respects. This could easily be rectified with a lick of paint/varnish, fresh linens and new crockery. Some of the restaurant staff seemed disinterested and could benefit from further Customer Service training. Some inexpensive cosmetic changes would enhance this hotel's appeal.
